creation & communion
Hello! I’m Paulina, a proud Newark native born and raised in this vibrant city. My deep connection to Newark and its diverse community inspires every piece I create.
As an artist, I am dedicated to crafting meaningful installations and graphic design that celebrate community, culture, and nature. My work explores themes of heritage, growth, and connection, bringing meaningful stories to life through vibrant visual art.
My work draws inspiration from my Ecuadorian roots and the rich symbolism of nature, aiming to foster dialogue and bring people together in shared spaces. With each piece, I hope to inspire joy, reflection, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world and our communities.
This website showcases my ongoing projects and the vision behind them. Thank you for visiting, and I invite you to explore how art can cultivate hope and unity.

PAULINA CANDELEJO, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNER
I am a proud Newark native who has journeyed through the entire Newark education system, from public schools to earning my degree in User Experience Design from The New Jersey Institute of Technology. Growing up and learning in this vibrant city has deeply influenced both my personal and professional life.
During high school, I had the privilege to work at The Newark Museum through the Newark Explorers Program, a college and career readiness initiative for Newark students. As a bilingual tour guide, I led exhibitions in both English and Spanish, helping to create an inclusive and educational environment for visitors from diverse backgrounds. This experience strengthened my passion for art, culture, and community engagement, while also honing my communication and public speaking skills.
Professionally, I work as a User Experience Designer with experience at Verisk Analytics. I have been involved in analyzing use cases and scenarios to improve workflows, developing task flows, and documenting insights during workshops and usability testing. I design and code interactive high-fidelity prototypes, ensuring clear documentation for product development. I also manage and maintain design systems and collaborate closely with product teams on ideation, design, and validation to enhance customer experience.
Bringing together my love for art and technical expertise, I create installations soon to be large scale and graphic designs that celebrate culture, heritage, and community. My multidisciplinary background allows me to approach my work with both creativity and a user-centered mindset.

Connecting Hearts Through Art

BANKSY
The phenomenal artist Banksy is renowned for his powerful graffiti, often appearing in unexpected places around the world. His thought-provoking works shine a light on social injustice and human rights, challenging viewers to reflect and respond.

salvador dali
Surrealist icon Salvador Dalí left a lasting impression on me during my visit to Dalí Paris in 2018—a museum dedicated to his extraordinary body of work. His art was captivating, but it was his mindset that truly stood out. Beneath one of his paintings, I read a quote that has stayed with me: ‘I love Gala more than my mother, more than my father, more than Picasso, and even more than money.’ His unapologetic devotion to his partner remains a powerful testament to love and passion.
