Collection II:
WOMEN of Gratitude

A pivotal project I created for my local church’s Women’s Day celebration features two handcrafted sculptures honoring women of color. One woman is adorned with red roses, symbolizing the beauty and pride of her afro, while the other wears a purple scarf accented with lavender flowers. Both sculptures celebrate the unique features and inherent beauty of women of color, serving as a visual tribute to their strength, elegance, and cultural significance.
I carefully painted each piece by hand, with deliberate attention to detail, as a gesture of love and gratitude to the church community that supported me throughout my university journey. Through this work, I continue to explore how art can transcend personal expression to become a vessel for collective healing, cultural affirmation, and inclusivity within sacred spaces.
